The AdScripter system is specifically designed for the non-technical user. However, it can be used by webmasters, designers and ad agencies alike to build ads that are more complex and dynamic. AdScripter provides a graphical user interface that allows the advertiser to create content, add images, enter specific business information and much more.
Types of Administrator Access
There are two types of administrators in the AdScripter systems, Primary Administrators (newspaper personnel) and Advertiser Administrators (local advertiser). Depending what type of user is logged in determines what fields they can see and what they can edit. There may be several Primary Administrators for one newspaper who are assigned to maintain the website.

Fig. 1 - Primary Administrators can assign new user accounts to individuals and associate them to one or multiple advertisers in the system
The Advertiser Administrators are allowed access to their business information only. One Advertiser Admin may belong to more than one advertiser in the system (ex. one person owns two different businesses). The Primary Administrator is responsible for setting up the Advertiser Administrator accounts. Once the accounts are setup and the login information is dispersed, the advertiser may then log in and change their username or password to their liking.

to by checking or un-checking boxes next to the appropriate fields
When primary administrators add a new advertiser to the system they have the option to determine what features that particular advertiser has access to. AdScripter allows flexibility in determining feature sets per advertiser so newspapers have the opportunity to up sell specific features such as website address, email address, hours of operation, microsite, logo, radio ad link, video ad link, etc. Primary Administrators can toggle features off and on simply by checking or unchecking the boxes next to the appropriate fields as show in Fig. 3 above.

Microsite Editor
As with the business listings, microsites are completely managed by the advertiser through an easy-to-use interface (see Fig. 6). The intuitive nature of AdScripter makes it easy for anyone who has used standard word processing applications. Most users need little or no technical skill or training with the product to be able to create great online advertising messages. Simplicity in design encourages advertiser participation and long-term use.
Although AdScripter was designed for non-experienced users, it can also be used by webmasters, designers and ad agencies alike to build ads that are more complex and dynamic. AdScripter provides a graphical user interface that allows the advertiser to create content, add images, enter specific business information and much more.
AdScripter is completely browser based so any computer that has Internet access can be used to log in and update ads instantly. Users will not need to install any special software on their computer, they simply connect to the Internet, log in through the media partner shopping channel and create.

Example of microsite editor
The microsite editor allows advertisers to upload images into a library for composing their page. Advertisers may also upload documents such as PDF or Word files for download from the microsite. For example, if an AdScripter dining guide advertiser wanted to place their menus on a microsite available for consumer download they could easily do so through the editor.
Other features of the microsite editor allow users to:
- Insert special characters such as ©, ®, ™, etc
- Easily create hyperlinks to and email address or external website
- Easily format text and images using the tables editor
- Check Spelling with the built-in spell checker
- For more advanced users you can quickly toggle between WYSIWYG and HTML views
- Built-in support for uploading/deleting/inserting images, Flash, and Windows Media files
- The Code Snippets dropdown is a handy tool that allows you to place predefined pieces of text or HTML like signatures, content templates, legal text, meta tags for mail-merge, and so on
